OUR OFFICE & POLICIES:

Our office is designed to be a pleasant, peaceful place in which to await and undergo your endodontic procedure. You will notice unique art, soothing horticultural specimens, refreshments, and a pervasive, soft jazz, musical atmosphere -- all enhanced by the relaxed and caring attitudes of Dr. Hebert and his staff. We ask that you call to our attention any aspect of the office which does not meet with your approval. If you have a preference for a formal greeting, we invite you to make it known from the beginning. We will honor your request. Please ask in advance for any particular assistance you may require so that we will have it ready for you upon your arrival. We will make every effort to be on schedule and ask that you do the same; however as this practice treats many emergency cases which, understandably, receive preference, it is not always possible to adhere strictly to our planned schedule. It may be useful for you to check with us, particularly later in the day, before setting out for our office. We ask that you give twenty-four hours' notice of your inability to keep your appointment to avoid assessment of a reservation fee.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

1.) No tooth will be treated unless there is a very good chance for success.

2.) You will be informed of complications which could affect the outcome of your treatment as soon as they are known, usually at the first visit.

3.) Discomfort following a regular endodontic (root canal) treatment may occur. There could be tenderness to pressure, dull ache, or even slight swelling of the gum. The tissues around the tooth are reacting to the manipulations of the instruments during treatment. Pain present before treatment may not ease immediately afterward. These reactions may prolong a case but do not necessarily alter the chances for successful results. This discomfort can usually be controlled by swallowing two aspirin (or their equivalent) every four hours. If this reaction persists, you should call our office. A stronger medication may be prescribed. Our phones are answered 24 hours a day.

4.) Upon completion of your root canal therapy, you will always be referred to your general dentist who will restore your tooth with a permanent filling or a crown. It is your responsiblity to make an appointment with your dentist when you are discharged by this office, but you may request our assistance in contacting your dentist. A complete report of your case, together with X-rays and any photographs will be sent to your dentist.

5.) Open communication among us will help ensure the success of your treatment.
